Frequently Asked Questions

What are the different technologies used for energy saving lights carried by Sun Bright Light?

We carry induction lighting, T5 fluorescent (with various fixtures and reflectors) lights, as well as LED lights.

What is induction lighting?

Using technology first introduced by Nikola Tesla 1890’s,  Induction lights (also known as  electrodeless lamps)create light with a magnetic field generator that excites and ionizes the air within a bulb creating a plasma state.  From there, the plasma radiates ultraviolet rays that excite fluorescent powder inside the bulb which creates the light source.  Induction lights are best used for high ceiling spaces (such as a warehouse) or even street lights  and have a lifespan of 60,000 hours.

What is T5 fluorescent lighting and how is it different from the commonly used T8?

T5 lights are fluorescent lights that are thinner at 5/8ths of an inch compared to existing T8 (1 inch) lights used by most offices around the US.  Coupled with our state of the art reflectors, one T5 light can outperform two regular T8 lights at a much lower energy cost.  Our T5 lights come with retrofit convertors that makes upgrading to T5 lighting as easy as changing a light bulb.  T5 lighting is perfect for office and retail settings.

What is LED light?

Light-emitting Diodes better known as LED lights, are bulbs that usually consists of a group of smaller LED light to use as a primary light source.  The biggest benefits of LED lights are their high efficiency where a 5 watt LED light can outperform a 100 watt incandescent bulb.  These are best used for showroom floors, high end offices and residential use.

Besides energy savings what are the other ecological benefits of Sun Bright Light products?

All products from Sun Bright Light are made of fully recyclable materials, without mercury or other harmful gasses.

Ecological benefits are great, but why should we switch to newer technology lighting that cost more than older technology?

All three technologies are much more energy efficient and offer more than 50% saving on your lighting bills.  At the same time, they all have incredible life cycles, starting with at least 20,000 hours with T5 fluorescents to 35,000 hours with LED lights and 60,000 hours with induction lights.  Generally, you will make your money back within 2 years with less trouble and hassle of current older technologies.
